Domestic Violence Advocacy & Resources
Our Sisters’ House provides confidential advocacy and practical support for individuals experiencing domestic violence. Our advocates help survivors navigate immediate needs while working toward long-term stability and safety.
Services include:
- Safety planning and crisis support
- Financial assistance, including:
- Gas cards
- Rental assistance (as funding allows)
- Food and clothing support
- Referrals to emergency and transitional shelters
- Referrals to law enforcement, when requested by the survivor
- Connection to community resources and support services
- Ongoing advocacy and emotional support
Sexual Assault Advocacy
Our Sisters’ House offers trauma-informed advocacy for survivors of sexual assault. We prioritize survivor choice, confidentiality, and emotional safety while providing support through every step of the healing process.
Services include:
- Crisis intervention and emotional support
- Accompaniment and advocacy during medical exams (as available)
- Support navigating reporting options, including law enforcement (survivor-led)
- Referrals to medical, counseling, and community resources
- Assistance with safety planning and next steps
- Ongoing survivor advocacy and support
Legal Advocacy & Protection Orders
Our Sisters’ House provides survivor-centered legal advocacy to help individuals impacted by domestic and sexual violence understand their rights and navigate legal systems safely and confidently.
Services include:
- Legal information and guidance related to domestic and sexual violence
- Assistance with filing protection orders
- Support understanding court processes and documentation
- Advocacy related to legal systems (survivor-led)
- Referrals to legal aid organizations and attorneys
- Ongoing support throughout the legal process

Sisters Seeking Change is Our Sisters’ House’s supportive programming designed to empower survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through healing, education, and personal growth.

Domestic Violence High-Risk Assessment
Our Sisters’ House provides domestic violence high-risk assessments to help identify situations where survivors may be at increased risk of serious harm. Using an evidence-based assessment tool, advocates evaluate risk factors to better understand the level of danger present and support informed, survivor-centered safety planning.
Services include:
- Administration of an evidence-based domestic violence risk assessment
- Identification of elevated risk factors related to survivor safety
- Enhanced safety planning based on assessment results
- Coordination with community and law enforcement partners, when appropriate
- Connection to advocacy, legal support, and protective resources
